I've read your story and it's very interesting, especially how you suddenly found yourself in a situation you didn't intend to end up in. I have a question for you which I've always wondered. Did you ever enjoyed the sex during a scene? I've always doubted that the actors actually like what they're doing even though they sound, or shall I say scream out how damn good it is. But on the other hand, there are girls that seem to get incredible orgasms and when I see that I don't know what to think. Of course it's possible that a person can like a scene but at the same time hate the industry.
I hope you have an answer for my question. Keep doing what you do!

When I was younger I thought that porn was really not cheating on your significant other. But when I realized the effect it had on my relationship and on my mate, and her viewpoint of me, it really opened my eyes. I used to minimize and justify masturbating to porn as not cheating. But it ultimately is. I mean, if my mate did the same to me, I would certainly have hurt feelings about it. I have abstained for quite some time from looking at porn, but just last night I was in a hotel by myself away from my mate, and got sucked in by the Internet. Before I knew it, I was on porn sites and I succumbed. So I'm on this site to share my story and to rehabilitate myself so that this doesn't happen again.

I would like to relate my own story of how porn changed my life. When I first met "Rena" she was a new hire in a male dominated industry. She was very beautiful, in her mid twenties, and very intelligent. She always seemed happy, and when I would see her smile it would light up my day. She was extremely self-confident, and I remembered that years earlier I had read that being naked in front of a camera would affect a person that way. It became my first clue. Her lifestyle made it apparent that she was bi-sexual. I didn't go to the strip clubs with her (I'm married and in my 50's), but the other guys from work did. She would kiss the girls, the guys told me, and I guess she loved the attention. I gradually began to suspect that she had a past she needed to keep secret. (Other things I could say about her might come close to revealing her screen name.)

When a person is 19 it's important that they have good mentors, and if they engage in porn, the influence it has on them will become apparent to those who have the experience to detect it. I guess it was inevitable that we would have a "falling out". Although I never confronted her I'm sure that my suspicions showed on my face. It's possible that she felt that I knew her full history at that point, but I didn't. She began to accuse me of harassment, at one point complaining because I called her "sweetie". She also started being very cruel to me, and more than once I would lock my door and cry, after watching her be nice to everyone but me. I tried being as nice as I could, but nothing worked. Like many companies mine had a zero tolerance for harassment, justified or not, and I was fired. It was 7 years ago, almost to the day. I was devastated. I considered myself a southern gentleman, and being fired for harassment seemed impossibly wrong. But worst of all was "Rena". She was important to me and having to leave things in such an awful state was terrible. It took a while, but eventually I made it through the worst crises of my life.

I never forgot about her, and there was only one thing left to do. Porn no longer has the intended effect on me. I was on a mission, in detective mode. It wasn't like I would sit for hours, starring at the monitor, but when I did look I would be alert for that one face. It took more than 6 years, but finally I found her. I finally had the truth.

Today she knows that I know. I never confronted her, she found through social media, of her own volition. I suppose it was hard for her, but sooner or later the truth always catches up. No one can live a life of integrity if they're always running from the past. She lives in Seattle now. There was a day when she wanted to talk to me, it was years ago. She was waiting for me outside of my workplace, but when I saw her I just walked away. For years I regretted doing that, but now I think I know why I did. It is my life's greatest hope that things will be OK between us, but maybe having the truth just has to be good enough.

Hi, I have been trying to get rid of my porn addiction for 2 years now. But due to my stressful academic life and my financial situation, I have been making no progress at all. Every time I get frustrated, my brain would automatically think about porn.

I think all this started a couple years ago. My parents sent me away to the US when I was a kid, and I lived with an adopted family before I left for college to be on my own. But I never felt like I was a part of the family; I had to deal with the language barrier (I didn't speak ANY English just 4 years ago) and I had to deal with my financial issues. Plus I am that type of person that would aim for perfection, that puts a lot of pressure on me when I don't reach my expectation as well. I simply found out that masturbating was a pleasure that could release me from all the things that bother me in life. But the last thing I want is to talk to a shrink. I would prefer to get rid of this on my own if I could. I was just wondering if you have any advice for me to get out of this guilt-and-replase cycle.
