Everyone can agree that forced prostitution and sex trafficking of women and children is an atrocity and should be fought against. However, not everyone agrees that pornography is harmful. Yet girls, boys and women who are trafficked for sex are sometimes used for filmed prostitution, (pornography), in the same way as they are used for "regular" prostitution. Therefore, if someone views or buys anonymous pornography that is available, particularly on the Internet and especially from Third World countries, one can of course never know for certain if the participants in it are there of their own free will, or if they are victims of illegal and usually violent sex trafficking.
Additionally, trafficked individuals are often used for the most heinous and violent types of pornography, because most people who are doing pornography by choice will usually not submit to certain harmful and repellent acts such as bestiality, extremely painful torture, having excrement smeared on them and having to eat it, etc. However, these sorts of films are made more and more because the demand for them continues to increase. So those who wish to profit off of that demand by creating the supply must find a way to create them, and that is usually only possible through force and by using women and girls who have no choice because they are being held captive in sexual slavery.
Additionally pornography relentlessly trains the many millions of boys and men who use it into becoming lifelong consumers of commercial sexual exploitation, or "Johns." It is commonly admitted by males that they want to act out what they see in pornography, and that they sometimes then go ahead and do so. So eventually many (if not most) pornography users seek out prostituted women, girls, men, boys or children in order to live out their pornographic sexual fantasies. As such, pornography is a very significant demand factor for prostitution and international sex trafficking, particularly of women and girls.
When men seek out women to buy for sex they usually have an idea in mind of the sort of sex acts that they wish to engage in, because they have already usually fantasized about engaging in those acts while watching that sort of pornography. Often they want to make absolutely sure that they can engage in those depraved and often harmful sex acts with no resistance on the part of the other person involved who is usually a vulnerable woman or girl. The only way that they can make sure that this is the case is if they purchase someone for sex who is under the complete control of a pimp or trafficker so that the person that they have bought to use for sex has no choice but to do whatever the "customer" wants because the consequences of not doing so will be some sort of punishment such as violenceor torture, and in some cases even death.
So whether boys and men act out degrading pornography on their wives or girlfriends, strangers when they are raping them, or on the prostituted or trafficked girls and women they buy for sex, such pornography harms everyone involved. All of society pays the price if they remain silent and do nothing about the brutally dehumanizing pornography industry that so enthusiastically promotes violence against women, men and children as acceptable and even enjoyable.

The United Nations definition of human trafficking is “The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation".
The Asia Pacific region is seen as the most vulnerable region for trafficking because of its huge population pyramid, growing urbanization, and extensive poverty. Trafficking is a violation of human rights. Victims of trafficking suffer from physical and mental abuse and social stigmatization. They become isolated, losing ties with their former lives and families. At the societal level, trafficking undermines development efforts and raises social and health costs.
The ongoing abuses of human rights and the growing social and economic inequality within and between countries has led to an environment in which many women have few choices and resources, and are thus vulnerable to being lured, mislead or forced into being trafficked.
Women who are most vulnerable to being trafficked are those aged 10-35 and who are impoverished, uneducated or from indigenous, ethnic minority, rural or refugee groups. Such women often lack access to education and meaningful employment opportunities. Harmful cultural and customary practices also perpetuate discriminatory and violent practices that further diminish women's opportunities and lead to further marginalization and commodification.
Promoting gender equality through the elimination of gender discrimination and gender-based violence will enhance the dignity and human rights of women and girls and prevent their being trafficked.

Moreover, sex trafficking, which is closely related to pornography, is now widely acknowledged as a significant international problem. Activists must confront pornography and prostitution in any effort to attack sex trafficking."
